Maintenance Technician

Schippers & Crew, Inc. is seeking a dependable and hands-on Maintenance Technician to support our electronics manufacturing operations. This position is responsible for maintaining production equipment, coordinating preventive maintenance and calibration activities, supporting equipment moves and installations, and ensuring that production has the tools, supplies, chemicals, and consumables needed to operate efficiently.

The ideal candidate is organized, mechanically inclined, detail-oriented, and comfortable working independently while coordinating with Production, Engineering, Purchasing, Accounting, vendors, and outside service technicians.

Key Responsibilities
Equipment Maintenance & Repair

Perform scheduled preventive maintenance (PM) on production machinery and equipment according to manufacturer specifications.
Maintain accurate Preventive Maintenance Logs and ensure maintenance activities are completed on schedule.
Communicate with machine manufacturers and service technicians when technical support is required.
Troubleshoot and perform machine repairs when applicable.
Identify, source, and order machine parts needed for repairs or replacement.
Perform initial setup and placement of new machinery and equipment.
Tear down machinery and equipment for removal from the production floor.
Repair, replace, relocate, and install machinery, support equipment, tools, and related production equipment.
Assist with workstation setup, relocation, and removal as needed.

Calibration
Review equipment calibration records and identify equipment due for calibration.
Locate and verify all equipment requiring calibration and ensure units are available for service.
Provide calibration information to Purchasing so purchase orders can be generated.
Replace batteries in equipment as needed.
Coordinate shipment, pickup, and delivery of equipment to outside calibration providers.
Perform in-house calibration of equipment when applicable and qualified to do so.
Upon return of calibrated equipment, verify calibration labels and Certificates of Calibration.
Update electronic and physical calibration records with new calibration due dates.
File Certificates of Calibration and maintain required calibration documentation.
Maintain supporting documentation, including packing lists, purchase orders, and calibration records.

Production Supplies & Tooling
Identify tools, chemicals, equipment, and consumable materials required to support production workstations.
Maintain relationships with vendor representatives and identify sources for quality tools, machinery, chemicals, and production consumables at competitive pricing.
Obtain vendor quotes, pricing, and delivery information.
Provide quotes to Purchasing for purchase order processing.
Place orders with approved vendors for tooling, machinery, supplies, and consumables.
Send purchase orders to vendors through appropriate channels, including email or vendor order forms.
Evaluate vendors based on quality, pricing, delivery, and customer service.
Receive and distribute supplies, tools, machinery, and equipment to designated production areas.
Review packing lists and invoices for accuracy and route documentation to accounting.
Inspect and maintain production supply cabinets to ensure appropriate inventory levels, cleanliness, and organization.

Environmental, Safety & Waste Support
Inspect hazardous materials and chemicals for expiration dates and arrange removal when required.
Coordinate and schedule hazardous material waste for proper disposal.
Weigh and coordinate pickup and proper disposal of solder paste and solder dross.
Maintain work areas, storage areas, and equipment in a clean, safe, and organized condition.
Follow company safety procedures and applicable environmental and hazardous-material handling requirements.
